Gabe Guerra received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Guerra is a graduate of The Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. Commissioner Guerra has over 27 years of experience in banking and finance, currently serving as President and CEO for Kleberg Bank, where he began working in 2007. Previously, Guerra served as the Regional Vice President for Indirect Lending for the 12 State Midwestern Region of the U.S. at Wells Fargo Bank. Guerra spent the first five years of his career with Ford Motor Credit Company in Austin and Dallas, TX, in various areas of management.
Guerra is involved in various civic activities supporting jobs, education and quality of life issues in the Corpus Christi community. Guerra previously served as Past Chairman of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation, Past Chairman of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Past Chairman of the Del Mar Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Immediate Past Chairman of the United Way of the Coastal Band. Currently, Guerra serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Christus Spohn Health System.
An Eagle Scout, and the current President of the Board of Directors for the South Texas Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Guerra’s dedication and long-time commitment to community involvement spans across decades. Guerra was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and serves on the Dallas Fed’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. Recently elected by his peers, Guerra serves as a federal delegate Board Member of the Independent Community Bankers Association of America.
Guerra is a graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi Class 37 and was honored by the Young Business Professionals of the Coastal Bend as 2016 Superhero. Guerra received recognition as Small Business Champion by the Small Business Association in 2011 and 40 Under 40 recipient in 2010.
Guerra is a Corpus Christi native.
